Evidence for Jesus
There are few who dispute that Jesus physically walked the Earth. Even secular historians largely agree on that point thanks to clear archaeological evidence, census documents and eyewitness accounts. Many other religions, while not recognizing the divinity of Christ, do acknowledge that for 33 years, he existed in human form. The more important question is, who is Jesus, and can we trust his claims?
Those outside of Christianity often state that while Jesus was a “good man,” or a “learned and wise teacher,” he is not God. Others dispute the accuracy of the Gospel. Jesus' resurrection, which took place on the third day following his death, is our proof. Numerous witnesses who both loved and hated Jesus (including members of the Sanhedrin), acknowledge this fact. Without the resurrection, Jesus is not God, but a liar, and we would have no manner of atoning for our sins.

In considering the deity of Christ, the issue is not whether the deity of Christ is easy to believe or even to understand, but whether it is taught in God's Word. If at first the idea appears incompatible with human reason or understanding, that does not automatically rule out the possibility of its being true. Our universe is full of things (like gravity, the nature of light, quasars) that are beyond human understanding at this time, but nonetheless true. (read book)
Evidence for the Historical Jesus (Free Book--PDF Download)

A stream of new books continues to present Jesus as anything but the figure described in the gospel accounts. He is portrayed as a magician, a zealot, an Essene, a guru and world traveler, as one who used hypnosis, and as the husband of Mary Magdalene with whom he procreated into existence a secret lineage and society to rule the world. He is presented as a gnostic, an astronaut from outer space, a deceiver who plotted his own resurrection, and as nothing more than a code name for a sacred hallucinogenic mushroom allegedly used by the first Christians.
We desire, on the other hand, to present reliable evidence to portray as accurately as possible what the historical Jesus actually was like. (read book)
Atheist Bertrand Russell wrote in 1925, "I believe that when I die I shall rot, and nothing of my own ego will survive."[1] Well, that's cheerful. Russell clearly bordered on the morose, but we've all wondered, with perhaps more optimism, what will happen to us when we die. (read more)
The Da Vinci Code is not to be ignored as a fictional plot. Its premise, that Jesus Christ has been reinvented for political purposes, attacks the very foundation of Christianity. (read more)
Have you ever met somebody with such personal magnetism that they are always the center of attention? Possibly their personality or intelligence---but something about them is enigmatic. Well, that's the way it was two thousand years ago with Jesus Christ. (read more)
The Christian message is radically different from that of any other religion. Whereas other religions have rules, creeds, and instructions to live by, Christianity is really a person---Jesus Christ. If you take Christ out of Christianity you have nothing. (read more)
Did Jesus Christ really exist, or is Christianity built upon a legend? Few scholars question Jesus' existence, but some enemies of Christianity are attempting to prove otherwise.

Who is Jesus really? Is he, as the Bible says, the divine Son of God? Or was he merely a human prophet, as Muslims have been taught to believe? Who is the real Jesus? Read this comparison of how Jesus is described in the New Testament and in the Qur’an in order to determine which is more reliable.

Early Christians like Polycarp were martyred because they refused to confess Caesar as lord. They knew that Jesus alone is divine and would have no one usurp His status. These Christians knew the New Testament is not merely being polite when it calls Jesus “Lord”; rather, it is teaching that Jesus is God Almighty. (read more)
Mythical personalities are not involved in authentic episodes from the past. Nor do they leave hard evidence behind. In the life and ministry of Jesus of Nazareth, however, there are many points of contact between His record in the Gospels and the surrounding history of His times. (read more)
The doctrine of the virgin birth is crucially important. Jesus was not born in sin; that is, He had no sin nature. The Virgin Birth circumvented the transmission of the sin nature and allowed the eternal God to become a perfect man.

Few people have ever accused Jesus Christ of living a double life. Even most non-Christians believe Jesus was a good person. But if one examines his claims, then the issue that emerges is: either Jesus was the world's greatest deceiver, or he was exactly who he claimed to be. So which is the truth?

The purpose of this study is to focus on Jesus Christ and to demonstrate from the Bible His full divinity — that is, to prove the deity of Christ, that He is fully God, co-equal and co-eternal with the God the Father and God the Holy Spirit. As the ancient creeds correctly state, Jesus is true God and true Man.

Christian persecution was a dramatic part of early church history. For anyone who holds that the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ was a man-made hoax conspired by a group of disciples should check out the legacy of martyrdom. Eleven of the 12 apostles, and many of the other early disciples, died for their adherence to this story. This is dramatic, since they all witnessed the alleged events of Jesus and still went to their deaths defending their faith.

The Case for the Deity of Jesus
by Bryce Klabunde and Larry Sittig
Scholars and historians have debated for centuries whether Jesus of Nazareth was simply another human being or if He was truly divine. This article provides evidence from several different angles to support the truth that Jesus was fully God and fully man. As a man, He was able to take on the punishment for our human sin. And as God, He was able to triumph over sin and death, rising from the dead and offering salvation to all. (read article)
Defending the deity of Christ can be a source of anxiety for some believers. Perhaps it is because our defense often consists only of a couple of proof texts which are quickly challenged by Jehovah’s Witnesses and others. Even worse, some Christians themselves are troubled by passages that seem to teach that Jesus is something less than God, that He is inferior to the Father in some significant way. The New Testament provides multiple lines of evidence to make the case that Jesus is God. (read more)
