Oneness is God’s plan, not togetherness.
God’s plan for marriage is for the two to become one; and to exalt His name together by leaving, cleaving, helping, submitting, leading, and loving. God has designed the husband as the leader with his wife under the umbrella of his love and protection. God elevates this wonderful earthly relationship to incredible heights by saying it is a picture of Christ and His bride!
The wife’s role is to be the “helper” by submitting to and complementing her husband. She should also be content and demonstrate reverence for her husband. The husband’s role is to love his wife with God’s love, to care for her, meet her needs, to be unselfish and considerate. For that, you will both need to walk in the Spirit!
