A story is told of a king who was told he would be cured of a mysterious sickness if he would wear the shirt of a really happy, contented man. After a long search, such a man was found, but he did not possess even a shirt.
What does it mean to be “content?” Simply, it means to be satisfied. It means wholly at ease, fulfilled, without craving, sufficient, the acceptance of God’s provision. You can be satisfied, at ease, and without craving for more…if you know and love Jesus. Continue Reading »

It doesn’t matter if you are old, sick, weak, frail, crippled, feeble, or poor–DON’T QUIT! Because God’s work is not being done by you anyway. God does it, through you. In John 14:10, Jesus said of His teaching: “It is the Father, living in me, who is doing the work.”
Joshua 13:1 says, “When Joshua was old and well advanced in years [over 100!], the Lord said to him, ‘You are very old and there are still very large areas of land to be taken over….’” Translation: “Get up and move out!” I find that immensely stimulating. Continue Reading »
