One Day—Will Be the Last Day
by Bert Harned, MD
One day will be the last day…in the meantime, don’t miss what God has provided for us.
It is spelled out in Ephesians 3:12-21. Read it in the Amplified version, and be one of the FEW who grasp its HUGE significance. Here, in part, is what it says:
“(16) May He grant you out of the rich treasury of His glory to be strengthened and reinforced with mighty power in the inner man by the Holy Spirit Himself indwelling your innermost being…may Christ settle down, make His permanent home in your hearts. May you be rooted deep in love…that you may have the power and be strong to apprehend and grasp…what is the breadth and length and height and depth of it…that you may be filled through all your being unto all the fullness of God…(that is) may have the richest measure of the divine Presence and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself….” (emphasis added)
Those are incredible words…God’s Words! His plan for our living on the earth! He designed us to be filled with mighty power in the inner man, by being indwelt and controlled by the Holy Spirit. That is normal…it is not bizarre, peculiar, or weird. When we are living that way, we will look like, and reflect Jesus! It is the way He lived. God’s plan is for us to be filled and flooded with Himself! Think of it! Major Ian Thomas’s take on it is that gas makes the car function as designed; and ink is necessary for the pen to function as designed. That is normalcy. NOT to abide in Christ–is abnormal.
My great concern for myself, and for the church…is that FEW of us are there! We are missing the enormous potential God has built into us. “One day will be the last day“…and then what will we say to God, if we have refused, for a lifetime, what God has offered?
